The City of Chandler is Hiring in August
In the Phoenix news this month are lots of great city job openings! Evening Yoga Classes
Appropriately named, “Evening Yoga Flow” ~ the city of Chandler is offering yoga classes on Tuesday nights from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. The class focuses on the basic/advanced yoga postures, meditation, strength, and flexibility. The next session starts August 9th through August 30th. The fee is $7 if you’re a resident, $10 if you’re a non-resident. The class is open to participants age 12 and up and is suitable for both beginners and advanced yoga practitioners. Bring a yoga mat or a beach towel.
Free Art-Making Workshops for Kids
Free art classes for kids is in the Phoenix news this month. Beginning on August 2nd, the Vision Gallery in Chandler is offering a number of free art workshops for children between the ages of 6 and 14. Children who are residents in Phoenix are able to participate in up to three workshops. Some of the different types of art-making include: drawing, ceramics, painting, calligraphy, and sculpting. The Kidz program enables the children to create art with the help and guidance of professional artists. The workshops are held on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm in downtown Chandler at the Vision Gallery. A parent or guardian must be present with his/her child throughout the duration of each selected workshop.
Chandler Art Walk
August 19th, the third Friday in the month, head downtown Chandler to enjoy the art of 50+ diverse and talented local artists from 6-10 p.m. The artists accepted for the Chandler Art Walk event applied and went through a juried process. It’s a family-friendly event with live music and plenty of choices for food and beverages. A great way to enjoy a Friday evening in the city and in the summer!
