Winter Meet at Rillito Park Racetrack: University of Arizona Weekend
Enjoy a fun day at the races. Tucson’s historic Rillito Park Racetrack hosts live horse-racing for the 77th year. The 2020 Winter Meet will have seven weekends of live racing, February 8 through March 22, 2020. This year includes 14 live race days plus a variety of special programming is scheduled for each day.
The theme for February 15-16 is University of Arizona Weekend. Feburary 16 features Liz Bracken Memorial Stakes. Check RillitoRaceTrack.com for program details. Post time is 1:30 p.m. No outside food or beverages are allowed in. Please, no pets. Rillito Park is a historic racetrack and the birthplace of quarter horse racing. MLS Preseason in Tucson – Visit Tucson Sun Cup
Major League Soccer (MLS) Preseason hosted in Tucson features the Visit Tucson Sun Cup at Kino Sports Complex North Stadium, presented in partnership with Phoenix Rising FC and Major League Soccer (MLS). The first match of the annual preseason event will take place on Saturday, February 15th with the final matches taking place on Saturday, February 22nd. Teams will consist of Sporting KC, Real Salt Lake, New York Red Bulls, Houston Dynamo and Columbus Crew. Joining them will be USL Championship club Phoenix Rising FC and USL League One club FC Tucson.
Asian Lantern Festival
Reid Park Zoo is partnering with Tianyu Arts & Culture Inc., the University of Arizona’s Confucius Institute, and the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center to bring you another fabulous year of more than 400 colorful, interactive, customized lanterns to Southern Arizona. You may even get lost in magical worlds as you dive deep into the sea, then emerge to walk among the dinosaurs and finally stumble into the wild plains of Africa! Save the date for this event that will transport you across the world with Asian-inspired entertainment, cuisine, and culture. Throughout the evening enjoy:

Dweezil Zappa “Hot Rats Live! + Other Hot Stuff 1969”
ProMotion Concerts presents Dweezil Zappa at the Rialto Theatre Tucson! Dweezil’s current lineup is considered his best version ever. Now a 7-piece band, they are firing on all cylinders propelled by the rhythm section of Ryan Brown on drums and Kurt Morgan on bass. Boundless energy is contributed by the rest of the line-up which includes Sheila Gonzalez, Chris Norton, Cian Coey and boy wonder, Adam Minkoff. This is an all-ages event.
Tucson Roadrunners Hockey: Tucson Roadrunners vs. Stockton Heat
Tucson Roadrunners Ice Hockey takes on the Stockton Heat at Tucson Convention Center Arena for their weekend games. Games start at 7:00 PM both nights. The Tucson Roadrunners is a professional ice hockey team and an affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes ice hockey team.
