Mt Lemmon Hill Climb
Mt. Lemmon is right up there with the famous passes in the European tours: hardly anywhere else in the U.S. can you climb so high for so many miles in succession. In celebration of Tucson’s singular cycling challenge, Greater Arizona Bicycling Association (GABA) sponsors the Mt. Lemmon Hill Climb, one of the toughest 100 hill climbs in the USA, starting at McDonald District Park on Harrison Rd., north of the Santa Catalina Hwy. Enjoy free bike valet from El Grupo. Registration closes on May 16.
Farmers’ Market at Steam Pump Ranch-Saturdays
Steam Pump Ranch provides a picturesque backdrop for Oro Valley’s Heirloom Farmers Market. Regional farmers, ranchers, and artisan food producers average over 30 vendor stalls and over 700 customers, each week, offering high quality farm products, and diverse local products. Several fun events are planned each year to introduce more customers to this neighborhood gem.
Friday Night Live! at Main Gate Square: Reno del Mar
Enjoy Reno Del Mar, a dynamic acoustic instrumental group that performs beautiful, original guitar and violin music in a wide range of styles that include Latin jazz, Americana, western swing, tango, gypsy, flamenco fusion, bebop and blues. The trio is usually violin and two acoustic guitars. Beth Daunis plays the violin, Phil Lipman plays an acoustic steel string, and Mark Wilsey plays an acoustic nylon string, Spanish style guitar. Come early for great shopping and dinner and stay for the amazing sounds in the beautiful outdoor venue, Geronimo Plaza at Main Gate Square. Parking is free in the Tyndall Garage after 5pm with Main Gate merchant validation or validation at the concert. International Wildlife Museum thanks all our brave soldiers and airmen for their dedication, service and sacrifice for defending our freedoms and way of life. Celebrate with free admission for military (active, retired & veterans with ID) during Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-27. Last admission given is 45 minutes prior to closing time.
Tucson Saguaros Baseball Club
The Tucson Saguaros will return to play in the Pecos League’s Pacific Division which will consist of the Tucson Saguaros, California City Whiptails, Wasco Reserves, White Sand Pupfish, Alpine 6 Cowboys, High Desert Yardbirds and Roswell Invaders. Games are at Cherry Field, 425 S Cherry Ave. The club is a member of the Pecos League, an independent baseball league not affiliated with Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball.
