First Fridays at Arizona History Museum
A Blue Star Museum that offers free admission to active-duty military and their family, Memorial Day-Labor Day, the Arizona History Museum presents a free program for all ages, all year round, which is included with admission to the museum on the first Friday of every month.
UA Presents: Beijing Guitar Duo
UA Presents welcomes two of the most outstanding guitarists of their generation, Meng Su and Yameng Wang of the Beijing Guitar Duo, with ability and artistry that exceeds their years. Their debut CD Maracaípe, received a Latin-GRAMMY nomination for the titled piece, which was dedicated to them by renowned guitarist/composer Sergio Assad.
Tucson Roadrunners Hockey: Tucson Roadrunners vs. San Diego Gulls
Watch the Tucson Roadrunners cross hockey sticks with the San Diego Gulls at the Tucson Convention Center Arena in downtown Tucson. The Tucson Roadrunners are the American Hockey League affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes ice hockey team.
Oro Valley 2nd Thursdays Concert Series: Connie Brannock’s Tiny House of Funk
A free outdoor concert presented in the Century Theatres Courtyard (outdoor courtyard) at Oro Valley Marketplace, featuring Connie Brannock. Tiny House of Funk is ready to delight Arizona audiences with their unique, high-spirited blend of R&B, Jazz and Soul. Connie, Troy, Mike and Tyrone open up the door to their eclectic, yet comfortable musical house and welcome you in for a little “WD-40 for the hips.” Attendees are invited to bring their own chairs. No seating is provided. There is no cost to attend the concerts. Concerts are approximately 80-90 minutes in length.
Arizona Farm & Food Festival
Many of Arizona’s outstanding chefs are paired with over 20 local growers, makers and purveyors to create recipes inspired by Arizona food and beverages that demonstrate the virtues of the locally sourced ingredients. Highlights of this family-friendly event at Casino Del Sol’s AVA Amphitheater include live cooking demonstrations, food samplings, Heirloom Farmer’s Market “Taste the Market” tent, hands-on workshops, children’s activities, a Farmer and Growers Pavilion, and an opportunity to meet and interact with the chefs and producers. Local spirits purveyors will be prominent at the festival in the interactive wine-and-beer tent. Libations from the region’s breweries and distilleries will be offered along with guided tasting tours for the over-21 crowd.
